This one-source resource to payroll is part of CCH's Master Series of professional guidebooks. You'll find everything you need to know about payroll from employers and their obligations to payroll withholding and tax deposits to payroll management and administration issues.
Oklahoma has amended its rules for voluntary payroll deduction agreements. Currently, the rule states that the payroll deduction agreement must be signed by the employer and the employee. Effective July 1, 2009, the requirement that the employer sign the agreement will be eliminated, and the rule will specify that the agreement must be signed before the payroll deduction is made. The main purpose of the payroll deduction agreement is to protect the employee by ensuring that the employee is aware of the deduction before it is taken. The new rule will still protect the interests of the employee while also ensuring that these otherwise valid employment agreements are upheld.
(Oklahoma Final Rule, §380:30-1-7, adopted May 22, 2009, effective as noted above.)
