




Social Security Explained, 2011 Edition
Provides a comprehensive and detailed explanation for the federal old-age, survivor's and disability insurance segments of the Social Security program.
The Future Systems Technology Advisory Panel for the Social Security Administration will hold its sixth public meeting on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday, February 4, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Latham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The panel's mandate is to recommend a "road map" to aid the Social Security Administration in determining what future systems technologies may be developed to assist in carrying out its statutory mission over the next 10 years. The exact agenda for the upcoming meeting will be available at http://www.ssa.gov/fstap/index.htm one week prior to the starting date. The agenda also is available by e-mail or fax upon request.
The panel is soliciting comments from the public, either oral or written. The 4:30-5:00 p.m. time slot on Wednesday is being reserved for public comments, which will be limited to a maximum of five minutes per individual. Individuals who wish to appear in person should contact the panel staff at the address listed in the announcement, which was published in the January 11, 2010, Federal Register (75 Fed. Reg. 1446).
